Private Postnatal Care

“We had amazing support from Lesley following the birth of our first child. She was always available no matter what time of the day and was so knowledgeable on breastfeeding. She really helped to settle us in as a family”

“With our first two children I really struggled with postnatal depression and only managed to breastfeed for a few days. I contacted Lesley shortly after the birth of our third and she helped with even the most insignificant things which made a massive difference. Her continued support, encouragement and kindness I’m sure is the reason I’m still breastfeeding my daughter four months later and didn’t suffer with depression this time”.

Full Package of Postnatal Care

An initial consultation appointment is organised so that you can both meet Lesley Gilchrist and learn about our postnatal programme if you haven’t already. There is no charge for this consultation.

Lesley will provide you with generous appointment times in your own home at times convenient to you. She will carry out all aspects of postnatal care including:

  • Your baby’s heel spot test
  • Newborn examination
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Support with caring for your baby
  • Advice regarding attachment parenting (bonding)
  • A referral to any NHS specialist that may be required

Plan of Care

Lesley will visit you daily for the first 4 days and from then every 2 or 3 days until your baby is 3 weeks old.  From then she will visit weekly until your baby is 4 weeks old. If you are experiencing any difficulties, more appointments can be added if needed, especially if you require extra support with breastfeeding.

Extra Appointments to Supplement your NHS Care

If you would like to enhance your NHS care or are struggling to cope with the demands of new motherhood, Lesley can meet with you in your own home to offer extra support in getting to grips with motherhood. These sessions help by providing breastfeeding advice, support and tips, postnatal care for you and your baby and also the ‘examination of the newborn’ for your baby.

Breastfeeding Support

It won’t surprise you to hear that support with breastfeeding, or a fractious baby may be required at all times of the day and night. Our breastfeeding support consultations offer just that, no matter what time of the day or night you require support, we can be there to guide you through it all. Lesley’s experience and expertise with breastfeeding issues will ensure that you are all in the best possible hands, allowing you to feel confident and relaxed about breastfeeding and baby.
